Final Concepts

More shapely designs for the seat and possibilities of holding the rod.

These are a few concepts developed with a lot of discussion with the teachers and classmates. The desk ideas utilise the functional qualities in a fishing rod by suspending the table using the line. The angle of the table could be adjusted by winding the reels, but the table would be bouncy due to the flex in the rod, and will need some solid reinforcement at 90 degrees to counteract this.
The stool is another idea of incorporating the lamp idea and i thought could be a reading seat that has a light overtop to see the pages. The immediate ergonomic problems might stray someone from spending considerable time on the stool but further development is in the works.

My three final concepts for the fishing rod are above shown. I received a lot of positive feedback
about the use of the rod as a lamp or even a mic stand but understandably haven't quite yet found the way to incorporate it with another piece of furniture, as lamp alone is not sufficiently meeting the brief, as there was not enough craft in the design.
